Jocelyn Gregson

Jocelyn Gregson is a prominent WA artist who has had a long relationship with Fremantle Arts Centre through the collection and exhibition program and importantly as one of the central figures in the learning program as a drawing and painting tutor. Jocelyn’s main interest for many years has been still life and the local Fremantle landscape.  Exhibitions include solo and group shows at Galerie Düsseldorf, Fremantle Arts Centre, Rex-Livingston (NSW), Mundaring Arts Centre and Macquarie Gallery (NSW). In 2006 she was awarded a Mid-Career fellowship from the Department of Culture and
the Arts. She holds a BA, and two graduate diplomas in the fine arts and her sensitive landscapes and sophisticated botanical work have been collected by Bankwest, Curtin University and Galerie Düsseldorf and various other public and private collections.

Looking for the time and space to focus on what you want to do with painting? Come and spend four hours a week in FAC's light filled Painting Studio where you will be free to explore and develop your own painting at your own pace with and experienced tutor, Joss Gregson, for guidance and support.

Perfect for intermediate and advanced painters who wish to refine their work to exhibition standard, this course is for those who have a self-directed project they are working on who would love access to accomplished practitioner to bounce ideas off. Of course, if you would like to tackle a new and inspiring project within your area of interest, your tutor will be more than happy to oblige!

Come and explore Landscape Painting in a studio environment under the guidance of an experienced tutor, Joss Gregson. In this night course, you will learn how to make colour and light work for you in your paintings. Weekly demonstrations and exercises will take you through different approaches from brushwork to palette knives, the use of texture and different mediums, the importance of composition, atmosphere, and the creation of depth. Learn how to paint clouds, sky, grass, trees, the oceans, and everything in between.
