"This was during our bush lolly season, we call it gardangu season. We travelled out to Python Pool on a hot summer day with some friends. Aunty Wendy just started to walk into the water to cool down and as I looked over towards her there was an image I captured in my mind. I grabbed my camera and then I took the photo of her with the rocks behind her. Everyone in the arts industry know Nanna Wendy as a Yindjibarndi woman as well as an artist. She paints about her Country, about Yindjibarndi culture. This is the photo I’ve taken. Aunty Wendy is my aunty, she’s also a grandmother. This picture is quite strong, because the way this photo showcase, it is something that’s quite incredible."
