“I’m painting in memory of my son. Painting gives me some peace, some calm, a chance to escape my troubled incarcerated world. I believe I’m reconnecting and honouring my ancestors in my Country with my painting. I came to painting later in life, only a few years ago when I lost my son. I discovered skills I never imagined. Now I’m getting confident, wanting to show the world through my eyes how I’m feeling through the expression of paint. I like using bright colours, blending and watching the images form. When I’m not painting, I’m thinking about painting.”
