Stripped, stitched, smushed Re made and embellished Housed within ceramic frames, the weavings in these works are made from found pieces of plastic ropes, netting and ribbons. After untangling and cleaning this material, it is reworked with discarded jewellery findings, charms and beads to create abstracted tableaus that speak to the place of their making.

Dionne Hooyberg is an artist and community arts worker currently living and working on Wardandi/Whadjuk boodja (Bunbury). Dionne is a graduate of Curtin University (Bachelor Fine Arts 2015, Hons 2016) and has exhibited with PICA, Geraldton & Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, Cool Change & Smart Casual.
