Scenario #8

Peter Burgess

Peter Burgess’s Scenario #8 uses a strategy of re-photography, to paint out of focus images in an attempt to construct a narrative that poses more questions than it answers. It is a reminder that there is more than one way to tell a story and most stories have more than one possible ending. Each image, acting as a frame for an unidentified action perform almost in the same way as a comic or a storyboard, creating space for the veiwer to impart their own imagination onto the work. The dark liminal zone between, brimming with potential, is where the focus lies. Scenario #8 is one of 51 works selected as finalists in the 2021 Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award.
