Collaborator Mark Binns

Curiosity has always driven people to explore the world. Discoveries are made, lands colonised and wonders revealed. People, cultures and species transform or vanish.

The installation tells the stories of five curious women who transformed themselves and in turn transformed the world. The curious five sailed through life, their bow waves creating gentle ripples, sometimes rolling surf and sometimes tidal waves of change.

But as the ocean transforms us, we transform it. Ripples of change spread from our use of precious resources, the exploitative work from which we benefit and the plastic we discard.
