Birndany (stingray) earrings | grey and yellow

Birndany is the Yawuru word for stingray. These earrings were designed by Yawuru-Karajarri artist Martha Lee. Stingray are an important food source for Yawuru people and are nice and fat for eating in Laja Season, around October-December. Hand-painted grey acrylic with yellow details and a yellow mirror organic circle and stainless steel ear posts and butterfly backs. Approx. 8cm in length.
