“I was born in Wyalkatchem, Ballardong Country in the Wheatbelt. I lived there until I was about 7 years old and then moved to Perth with my family. I like to create my art as it provides an escape from the stresses of life. When I paint, I am totally in the zone and focussed only on the work I am creating. I like to paint from the natural world of my people the Nyoongar people of Western Australia. My mother and her brother were keen painters of the natural world, and I grew up with them painting around me. I have adopted a similar style to my mum’s brother. My goal is to have my own studio and to be able to make a living as an artist.”
