Multi-award winning artist, curator and art educator, Dr Yvonne Rees-Pagh is an established artist primarily working in painting, drawing and printmaking. Her practice exists within a contextual framework often expressing environmental concerns where she employs a sometimes subtle and ambiguous visual language.
Rees-Pagh holds a Doctor of Philosophy 2007 & Master of Fine Art 2007 University of Tasmania, Master of Visual Arts 2003 & Post Graduate Diploma in Painting 1999 Monash University. Dip Fine Arts 1972 Claremont School of Art WA.
Further Rees-Pagh has always combined her art practice with art lecturing. Her early lecturing career began at the Claremont School of Art in Perth WA where she was a Lecturer in Fine Arts and Senior Lecturer in Printmaking. Rees-Pagh went on to tutor drawing and printmaking at the University of Tasmania.
In 2003 and 2005 she was awarded the Premium Second Award and the Award for Best Curated Exhibition at the Novosibirsk III and IV International Biennials of Modern Graphics in Russia. In 2009 she received The Award of the Rector of Katowice Academy of Fine Arts at the Krakow Print Triennial in Poland.
Rees-Pagh exhibits nationally and internationally and her works are held in The Holmes a Court Collection WA, The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Museu Do Douro Regua Portugal, Frans Masereel Centrum Belgium, Edith Cowan University WA, Education Dept of Western Australia, Novosibirsk State Art Museum Russia and the Burnie Regional Art Gallery Tasmania.
