Jeweller

Soham Harrison

Soham came to the field of jewellery subsequent to having worked as a factory-trained master Porsche mechanic for 25 years. After teaching himself the basics of silver work, and wanting to further develop his skills, he studied jewellery manufacturing and design at Fremantle TAFE.

Soham creates pieces that are both traditional and modern. He copies locally found sea shells and casts them in silver, and reconstructs images of gum leaves in fine silver then enamels them. He especially loves forging bangles.

He currently lectures in workshop practices for the design and manufacture of jewellery.

He thoroughly enjoys the technical side of making jewellery and passing on his knowledge.
