Sarah Elson

Sarah Elson is a Western Australian artist who has pursued an interest in traditional metalsmithing and its use in contemporary visual arts practice since the 1990s. In 2001 she was the recipient of a Samstag Scholarship and holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Chelsea School of Art and Design, London. Sarah has exhibited locally and internationally including solo exhibitions ‘Anigozanthos (eudaimonia hybrid)’ at Galerie Düsseldorf (2007), ‘phloem poetica’ at PICA (2010) and ‘Fasciation’ at Art Collective WA (2020). Her work is held in the collections of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, John Curtin Gallery, St John of God Healthcare, Edith Cowan University and the Janet Holmes à Court Collection. She is a member of Art Collective WA and currently teaches Visual Art at John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle.
