Sarah Elson

Sarah Elson is a Western Australian artist who has pursued an interest in traditional metalsmithing and its use in contemporary visual arts practice for almost 25 years.

Her jewellery designs centre ‘on the myriad ways that the bizarre and wonderful forms of plants and natural materials can be turned into jewellery pieces through the method of casting.’

Sarah lectures and teaches regularly to all levels: adults, tertiary and high school students. Her classes are interactive allowing students to bring in all kinds of objects and inspirations to develop gorgeous, unique jewellery pieces.

Sarah is a Samstag Scholar and holds an MFA from the Chelsea School of Art and Design. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and her work is held in the collections of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, John Curtin Gallery, Edith Cowan University and the Janet Holmes à Court Collection.
