Many Peaks Assembly is the name under which studio artist & designer Rose Megirian works. Rose is interested in the intersection of design thinking and contemporary making practice and its role in ethical and sustainable production.
Understanding that the most effective way to minimise harm is for all of us to consume less overall, her focus is on creating highly functional, timeless pieces of the highest possible quality. Additionally, attempting to build meaningful or emotional connections between objects and their owners in order to minimise need or want for replacement.
Trained at RMIT University, Rose employs a range of mediums to create unique garments, contemporary jewellery, refined homewares, art works and precious objects.
Rose believes championing and supporting creative industries and centring the people who make our stuff and valuing them as the highly skilled craftspeople they are is key to ethical consumption and sustainability.
All Many Peaks Assembly pieces are designed and made in-house as one-offs or in small quantities. Unique and exquisitely finished, Many Peaks Assembly is built around the idea that good design lies in superior form and function, without compromising one over the other.
With a background in contemporary craft retail, galleries and craft councils, she is a strong advocate for contemporary makers in Australia. Upon moving to WA, she strives to create opportunities for local designers and makers through collaborative projects and commissions. One such project is Wong + Megirian where Rose and photographer Bo Wong combine their skills to showcase & promote innovative approaches to craft, art & design through contemporary art direction & photography.
