Kate Weedon-Jones

Kate Weedon-Jones’ textile practice has spanned nearly 40 years.

Having grown up in a design-oriented family her passion for fabric design started at a young age.

She has a BA in Design with a Textiles Major from WAIT (now Curtin University) and has developed her practice over many years, producing a wide range of textiles for exhibitions, fashion parades, retail sales and commissions. She also ran a specialist textile retail shop called Indigo 119 with her mother.

Kate now mainly works in dyeing, Shibori, screen-printing and appliqué, piecing and stitching. Batik and weaving are also coming back into her work.

Kate is a tutor at Fremantle Arts Centre, teaching a range of textiles techniques.
