Andrea Osses
Whilst being thoroughly immersed in Australian culture, Andrea’s connection to her South american heritage is constant and evident in the aesthetic of her work. She attributes much of her passion and inspiration to her connection to the land she was born and raised in and the magic wrought by the ancient Mapuche silversmiths and the role their works played in the lives of, in particular, their women.
Each of her pieces has been hand crafted using silver of various compositions, copper and brass alongside traditional ceramics and textiles of the Andean Altiplano, leather, stone and glass – each piece holding memories, meaning, and stories collected along her life journey.
